ALLERGY CONSULTING SERVICE (ELSA) This service is designed to give support and guidance for successful diagnosis and treatment of inhalant allergy when referral to a specialist is not possible. By using in vitro serum testing to diagnose inhalant allergy, the tedious procedure of intradermal skin testing can be avoided, you can keep the diagnostic procedure in-house, and with the support and guidance provided on an individual case basis, you can successfully manage the inhalant allergy patient with excellent results. In addition, antigens are inventoried in quantity to provide individualized hyposensitizing solutions and dosage regimes. Mailers are supplied containing history sheets and vials to submit serum samples to the dermatologist. The laboratory procedure and evaluation of results is provided for a fee of $75.00. If, after evaluation, hyposensitization is recommended, the proper antigen set is supplied to you and you will bill your client accordingly as the price of solutions vary depending on the number, type, and concentration of antigens. An average cost for the first 3 vials of the program is $75.00, which last about 6 months. A maintenance vial lasting about 5-6 months is also about $75.00. This cost is patient dependant depending on the dose necessary to maintain control of symptoms. There is a one time initial consultation fee of $20.00 when the initial 3 vial set is sent. Ongoing consultation regarding case management is at no additional cost, but is key to success with this therapy and condition.
